February 8, 2006: The Mohammad Cartoon Tsunami

by T.A. Adams

The organized terrorist event you won’t see/hear about in major media

According to the Associated Press Chronology of the Mohammad Cartoon fiasco, about a dozen caricatures of Mohammad were printed in a Danish newspaper last September. According to the editor (Flemming Rose) of that paper this was done in order to take a stand against suppression of freedom of speech regarding Islam and to show the Muslim people that they are indeed treated as equals where the media is concerned. The paper that he works for (The Jyllands-Posten daily) has a history of posting cartoons that depict religious figures from all the major religions.

According to Mr. Rose, his paper only received one complaint about the images on the day they were printed in his paper. But, a couple of weeks afterwards the images were apparently discussed at the local mosque. Even then, there was barely a ripple heard; that is until Abu Laban and a coalition of 10 Muslim clerics decided to use the article to foment international outrage and bring about an international terrorist event.

So, from December 2005 through January 2006 this Danish Muslim coalition toured the Middle East seeking support from religious and political leaders they felt could help them force the Danish government into changing Denmark’s laws regarding the press to become more “Muslim” friendly and less free.

The problem they were faced with was that the images/cartoons that were printed in the Danish newspaper were in not in and of themselves vile enough to cause the kind of rage they needed to incite. What they don’t say here is that this coalition added several photos/images to the list of those printed in the Danish paper and these were the ones that really fueled the rage of Muslims throughout the world.

This coalition of Muslim clerics has taken a tour of Europe and the Middle East claiming that outrageous images they had with them appeared in a Danish newspaper. According to this WorldNetDaily article in an interview with FoxNews reporter Jonathan Hunt, one of those imams (Abu Laban) admitted that the worst of those images never appeared in the paper. He claimed that the photos/images were sent to him along with threatening letters, but refused to provide the so-called threatening letters.

These images were added for no other purpose than to fuel the outrage of Muslims throughout the Middle East and Europe. They knew that if they could cause a more serious reaction (violent riots) with these images they would once again be able to force changes throughout the West that are more in line with Sharia Law. In case anyone is confused about what this is, this is TERRORISM plain and simple!!
