February 7, 2006: "Musharraf survived rocket attack in Quetta"

KARACHI: Balochistan Governor Owais Ghani on Monday (6 February) revealed a rocket attack was made on President Gen Pervez Musharraf during his recent visit to Quetta. He told newsmen during a press conference: "Rocket was fired when the president was visiting Quetta Garrison on Dec 14. It landed just 200 yards away from the president," the governor said. "Despite this attack, President Musharraf flew to Kohlu and announced Rs 1.5 billion development package for the area. In Kohlu too, the president was attacked by rockets," the governor added.
